| Title Evidence Rules and Regulations - State of Texas
Examination and Closing services in the State of Texas are regulated by the Texas Department of Insurance under "Procedural" Rules P-24 and P-25.
Under these rules the State sets out certain guidelines for the payment for a percentage of Premiums..."unless the company providing such services and the company paying for such service enter into a written agreement specifying and agreeing to percentages different from those provided in this rule."
In addition, TDI sets out a "reasonable" time for Furnishing Title Evidence. In the rule it specifically states, ..."If all title insurance and direct operations for the county refuse to provide title evidence within such time and for the payments provided in Rule P-24, a title insurance company may directly issue its policy if the title insurance company obtains the best evidence available."
